Roma look to achieve another three-goal comeback when they take on Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma’s heavy defeat in the first leg once again leaves the team with a mountain to climb in the second leg. Liverpool are hoping to reach the final for the first time since the 2007 appearance in Greece.

Roma have lost first leg 2-5 at Anfield and now all players are highly motivated for this hard rematch. They are appearing in their first European semi-final for 27 years and it will be a truly hard to reach the final. Roma overturned a 4-1 first leg defeat in Barcelona and now have to do the same. The Giallorossi believe they can do it again against Liverpool on Wednesday and they will play offensive from the first minute. They yet to concede in five Champions League home matches and it will be one of their main objectives for this clash.
On the other side Liverpool also play very well this season and they are undefeated in their last 15 matches in the Champions League. They were held to a 0-0 home draw by Stoke on Saturday and remain 3rd in the Premier League and almost all key players are rested to be ready for this game. It only means that a few are immediately involved in defending and then you need immediately options when you win the ball. A lot of people might think Roma have only to win 3-0, but that’s quite a result. We’ll be there as well – we won’t stay in the dressing room.”
The main referee for the match is Damir Skomina from Slovenia. Assistant referees are Jure Praprotnik, Robert Vukan, Matej Jug and Slavko Vincic, while fourth official is Tomaz Klancnik.
Roma have several missing players for the second leg game with Liverpool. Rick Karsdorp and Gregoire Defrel are injured and they will not play on Wednesday night. Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman are not fully fit and they are doubtful for the match. All other players are fully fit and ready to play.
On the other side Liverpool have more missing players for this game. Joel Matip, Emre Can, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Joseph Gomez are injured and they can’t play on the match against Roma.
